Vegan picks at Roger’s Market

Roger’s Market, located in Revelle College is one of the six markets on campus where you can use your Dining dollars! As a vegan, student, grocery-buyer, I have found that Roger’s has some pretty unique options that can’t always be found in other markets on campus.

One of my personal favorite items to pick up here are these Boca vegan patties. With 17 grams of protein, they make for a great addition to my kitchen, and I find myself using them for other recipes besides just cheeseburgers. Chopped up, they add well to salads, wraps, and even tacos.

Another food item I like to pick up from Roger’s is a loaf of “Dave’s Killer Bread.” This bread has the best ingredient list I have ever seen- it’s packed with complete, whole grains and omega-3’s. Additionally, every flavor I have seen is totally vegan! I use this bread for all of my homemade sandwiches.

As a slightly-less healthy bonus, most markets on campus carry this vegan, gluten-free cookie dough! No preparation is required; just toss on a lined cooking tray and bake. As a bonus tip, since this dough is totally vegan, it can be enjoyed raw as well. No eggs means no salmonella poisoning and happy tummies!

Lastly, I want to highlight that this market almost always has a great variety of fresh produce! From avocados to fresh onions, to ripe apples, you can find all of your produce needs for a well-balanced diet here at Roger’s.
